PLA

Base material

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is the most popular 3D printing material. Made from corn starch, it's eco-friendly, easy to print, and produces great quality parts. Best for indoor decorative items and prototypes.

Best for

Prototypes, decorative items, hobbyist models, educational models

✓ Pros

• Easy to print

• Biodegradable

• Wide colour range

• No warping

• Budget friendly

✗ Cons

• Not heat resistant (60°C)

• Brittle under stress

• Not suitable for outdoor use

🔵

PLA+

+₹50/item

PLA+ is an enhanced version of PLA with improved strength, impact resistance, and surface finish. Ideal when you need better mechanical properties but still want ease of printing.

Best for

Stronger prototypes, display models, mechanical parts (light duty)

✓ Pros

• Stronger than standard PLA

• Better layer adhesion

• Reduced brittleness

• Smooth surface finish

✗ Cons

• Slightly higher cost

• Not heat resistant

• Still not for outdoor use

🟡

PETG

+₹80/item

PETG combines the ease of PLA with improved mechanical properties. It's our most recommended material for functional parts that need some flexibility and good heat resistance.

Best for

Functional parts, food-safe containers, mechanical components, outdoor use

✓ Pros

• Food safe (certified filament)

• Chemical resistant

• Good heat resistance (80°C)

• Flexible and tough

• Low warping

✗ Cons

• Stringing can occur

• Requires careful settings

• Slightly flexible

🟠

ABS

+₹60/item

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a strong engineering thermoplastic. Used extensively in automotive and electronics. Best for parts requiring high temperature resistance.

Best for

Automotive parts, high-temp applications, sturdy enclosures, snap-fit parts

✓ Pros

• Heat resistant up to 100°C

• Strong and tough

• Machinable and sandable

• Good for snap-fits

✗ Cons

• Requires enclosure

• Warps easily

• Emits fumes (ventilation needed)

• Difficult to print

🔴

ASA

+₹100/item

ASA is the outdoor-grade alternative to ABS. Exceptionally resistant to UV radiation, making it perfect for anything that will be exposed to sunlight and weather.

Best for

Outdoor fixtures, automotive, garden tools, UV-exposed parts

✓ Pros

• UV resistant — won't yellow

• Weatherproof

• Similar to ABS but better

• Good mechanical properties

✗ Cons

• Higher cost

• Requires enclosure

• Careful print settings needed

🟣

TPU

+₹120/item

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a flexible, rubber-like material. Perfect for parts that need to bend, stretch, or absorb impacts. Ideal for wearables, cases, and seals.

Best for

Phone cases, gaskets, shoe soles, vibration dampeners, grips, toys

✓ Pros

• Extremely flexible

• Impact resistant

• Chemical resistant

• Excellent grip surface

✗ Cons

• Difficult to print fast

• Requires direct drive printer

• Can't be post-processed easily
